The term “venetian plaster” refers to the surface finish of certain plasters and encompasses modern variations of traditional Italian plaster finishes. It encompasses a diverse range of decorative plaster finishes, ranging from the exceptionally smooth Venetian plaster and Marmorino to the textured appearance of rugged polished plasters. Typically composed of slaked lime, marble dust, and/or marble chips, each polished plaster has its own unique visual characteristics. For instance, a lime-based polished plaster might incorporate more than 40% marble powder.
